Background
Christian Bisanga founded BHR Clinic in Brussels in 2006 1. BHR is based in Rhode-Saint-Genèse, and its site also lists two other doctors, Konstantinos Lampropoulos and Abby Kyambikwa 2. Per BHR's site, he holds a medical degree in Surgery and Obstetrics from the Catholic University of Louvain and then moved to the United States to work in hair transplantation, with no dates given for any of it 1. The clinic describes him as multilingual (French, English, Swahili, Lingala) and as sought out for complex repair cases alongside primary transplants 1.
Procedures and techniques
BHR lists FUE, FUT/strip, body hair transplant and repair, PRP and scalp micropigmentation among its services 2. Per the clinic's FAQ, FUE sessions can harvest up to 3,000 grafts in a day and FUT sessions up to 5,000 grafts where appropriate 3. It describes a dense-packing approach aimed at the most appropriate density for each patient rather than the maximum possible, citing an acceptable transection rate of around 5 to 7% and an acceptable graft growth rate of roughly 94 to 98% 3. Body hair, most often beard, is described as a last resort once scalp donor supply is limited 3. The clinic also says it treats gender-reassignment patients and Afro-textured hair, the latter needing hairline design distinct from Caucasian or Asian hairlines 3. On large sessions generally, it cautions that graft counts are sometimes pushed industry-wide to what it calls an unethical, unsustainable extent 3.
Pricing
BHR does not publish fixed prices. Per its FAQ, cost is explained on an individual basis and set out in the patient's treatment plan 3.
Booking and aftercare
Consultations start online: BHR's intake form asks for uploaded photos of the front, top, sides and back, plus family hair-loss history, current medications, prior transplant surgery and stated goals 4. The clinic says this lets Bisanga evaluate the photos and return a treatment plan with a cost estimate 2. Aftercare, per the FAQ, uses anti-bacterial cleansers and shampoos, generally for two weeks before a return to normal hair care 3.
Credentials and memberships
BHR's site does not state a board certification or professional-society membership for Bisanga; the only external listing found is an entry on the Hair Transplant Network directory 5.

u/candidchopper had a 2,500-graft FUE transplant with Dr. Christian Bisanga in 2020 at age 24, reportedly paying around $8,000-$10,000. In late 2024, at 5 years out, he was weighing a second transplant (considering the US, Mexico, or Turkey, or returning to Bisanga) because he felt he needed more density to feel confident, even though he'd been told 'everything held strong.' Days later, at 4 years post-op, he titled his own report a 'Failed or mediocre transplant from legend Dr. Bisanga,' saying he'd been assured pre-op the result would 'absolutely, no doubt' be an improvement despite being a 'borderline case,' and that the clinic would only offer a repair at full price rather than for free.

u/Modeine had 2700 grafts performed jointly by Dr Bisanga and Dr Kostis in Brussels in 2024, paying €10,700, after multiple consultations with Bisanga starting in 2022. He described the surgery day and first night as very painful, with sedation and painkillers giving little relief, though a day-1 clinic check found the grafts fine despite some excess bleeding. Tracking his recovery from Day 0 through Day 10, he consistently reported being happy with how the result looked, while cautioning it was still early and he'd reserve full judgment until the 6-8 month mark; he also said the reassurance of choosing a reputable clinic over a cheaper option was worth the extra cost.

u/Dry-Evidence5149 had an FUE hair transplant with Dr. Bisanga in Belgium in 2023, receiving roughly 2850-2900 grafts for the hairline and mid-scalp; no price figure was stated. In the first nine to ten days post-op he posted repeated worried updates about hairless patches after scab removal, at one point calling the surgery and post-op experience 'very good' while still awaiting results. By 9.5 months post-op his assessment had reversed: he says he is 'extremely NOT satisfied with the results,' reporting that growth stalled and reversed with ongoing shedding, and that his hairline came out too straight and high, with the clinic telling him it 'can't take it lower.'

OP had a revision hair transplant with Dr Christian Bisanga in 2025 (2,800 grafts; no price or technique stated), after two earlier repair procedures at other clinics (Wimpole Clinic, then The Treatment Rooms in Putney) that OP said left a hairline that was 'pluggy and too straight.' Going into the Bisanga procedure, OP admitted being 'so nervous I get this wrong again.' Checking in just under 6 months post-op, OP reports 'Feeling good about it so far,' an overall positive result with Dr Bisanga.

Equanimous-Fox had FUE surgery with Dr Bisanga at BHR Clinic (Brussels) around 17 May 2023, reported as 3100 grafts at her 70-day update and 3055 grafts at her 4-month update, restoring the hairline and reinforcing temples; no exact price was given, only that Bisanga cost "1.5-2x more expensive than Turkey." At 70 days she was worried the temples "don't really seem to come through" and were still "very thin peach fuzz," though her own updates never render a final verdict. Commenting in other threads, however, she was clearly positive, saying Bisanga "worked absolute miracles," gave her a "high quality" natural hairline that was "well worth it," and telling another prospective patient "he does great work."

OP had 2,500 grafts placed by Dr. Christian Bisanga, covering the frontal hairline, temples and portions of the sides, at a cost of approx 10,500 USD. At 10 months post-op, OP describes a mixed result: the hair has grown in, but says it 'doesn't have the fullness I was hoping for at this stage,' and is worried about whether density will still improve before the 12-15 month mark.

OP had roughly 2,000 grafts with Dr Bisanga in Brussels, paying about 10,000 EUR, with surgery around 2022 and updates posted at 12 and 24 months post-op. He calls the result a clear success, saying 'my hair has been good since the surgery 👍' and that he's 'glad I went transplant' rather than wigs he'd considered. He described the procedure as painless aside from a week of facial swelling, said the clinic got back to him the same day he inquired, and reported only a brief spell of post-op thinning that 'came through real quick,' with no other complications mentioned.

OP had a hair transplant with Christian Bisanga on 2024-12-18, with 2,000 grafts placed to the hairline (reported 2024-12-20). They described the experience so far as "a pleasant experience," noting the donor area looked very nice once the bandages came off. In an earlier same-day post they also pushed back against another commenter's claim that Bisanga is a "row implanter." No cost, technique name, or complications were reported, and no longer-term follow-up is available yet.

- 2,500 grafts
OP had not undergone surgery with Dr Bisanga at either point captured here. On 2022-06-27, they reported being quoted around 13,000 AUD for 2,500 grafts by what they described as 'a reputable clinic in Germany,' later identified as Dr Bisanga's BHR clinic, and were asking how to arrange payment while overseas — no travel or procedure had happened yet. Two days later, they were still weighing that BHR/Bisanga quote (2,500 grafts FUE, ~13,000 AUD) against a competing 14,000 quote for 3,500 grafts from HLC Turkey. No verdict or outcome is recorded from this user in either thread.

OkLake863, 27, previously had a 2500-graft transplant elsewhere and a repair procedure that removed 900 misplaced grafts. As of December 2025 they were weighing Christian Bisanga — paired with Dr Abby or Dr Kostis, with Bisanga handling only recipient-area incisions rather than donor extraction — against Dr Lupanzula, Dr Emile Georges, and other surgeons for a planned 2000-2500 graft densification of the mid-scalp and hairline. They have not yet had surgery with Bisanga and have not stated a verdict on him.

jt19911 had an FUE hair transplant of about 3,200 grafts with Dr Christian Bisanga at BHR Clinic in Belgium in 2020, after finding no UK surgeon willing to do enough grafts in one session. A few months post-op they called it 'a great experience' (caveating results weren't final), and by about 2 months said they were 'already happy with my results.' By the week-20 update they described the whole process as 'so great,' praised communication with Bisanga's team and the doctor as fantastic, and said 'I would highly recommend!' A later 2022 comment mentions having had two transplants with Bisanga but is purely about recovery logistics, with no evaluative comment and no price or complications ever stated.

steveg_8 had a 3300-graft FUE procedure with Dr. Bisanga in 2016, paying £8000; 108 months (9 years) post-op he reports the result as disappointing. He says the midsection grew in thin and his FUT scar remained visible even after a follow-up SMP session, with the transplanted area still thinning nine years on. He calls himself possibly 'one of his few bad examples' and warns others to budget for additional paid sessions, since 'he will ask you to pay again.'
