The procedure was split in two: recipient area punched the evening before, then extraction and insertion from 8am to 6pm. At day one they reported being in a lot of pain with swelling and had given no overall verdict; they said they were taking the doctor's word that this method produces less shock loss.

Donor_Carcy25 asked a finasteride dosing question in March 2026. They say the doctors at HSW Clinic in Dublin under Dr. André Nel told them 1.25mg every day was too much and that 1.25mg Monday-Wednesday-Friday is enough, and that the clinic was adamant they use Proscar rather than generic pills. They did not think this was an upsell, since 30 5mg pills were cheap. No surgery with Nel is described.

AtariBigby had a transplant with Dr Nel in Ireland a few weeks before posting in February 2022, paying for 2000 grafts at 4 euro per graft and getting a few hundred extra; a consultation cost 200 euro. They say the consultation took about 3 months to get a date, with Nel's assistant doctor and about 10 minutes with Nel at the end, and surgery came 3 or 4 months after that. Early on they said "Overall I'm very happy with it so far", though the shape is not absolutely identical on both sides.
