De eigen FAQ-pagina van Eugenix Hair Sciences noemt Dr. Pradeep Sethi en Dr. Arika Bansal "our founders."1 De kliniek vermeldt vestigingen in Gurugram, Hyderabad, Mumbai (Bandra West) en Bhubaneswar, India.2 De bio van Dr. Sethi stelt dat hij zijn MBBS en MD in Dermatology aan AIIMS New Delhi behaalde en in Dehradun en Rishikesh in de dermatologie en esthetische behandelingen werkte voordat hij zich volledig op haarherstel richtte, met meer dan 15 jaar ervaring uitsluitend in haartransplantatiechirurgie.2 De bio noemt als zijn aandachtsgebieden haarlijnontwerp, dichtheidsplanning, gevorderde kaalheid (Grade 6 en 7), haartransplantatie bij vrouwen en correctieve haartransplantatiechirurgie, en dezelfde pagina vermeldt 22.000+ ingrepen bij Eugenix onder toezicht van Dr. Sethi en Dr. Bansal.2 Het motto dat de bio voor hem noemt is "Do it once, do it right."2
Behandelingen en technieken
Het aanbod van Eugenix omvat haartransplantatie bij mannen en vrouwen, correctie/littekencorrectie, baardtransplantatie, wenkbrauwtransplantatie, afro-haartransplantatie en transplantatie van lichaamshaar.3 De Direct Hair Transplant (DHT)-techniek is ontstaan uit aanpassingen aan de gewone FUE en werd in april 2013 voor het eerst gepubliceerd als techniekartikel.4 Bij DHT worden eerst de ontvangende openingen gemaakt, daarna worden de grafts met een gemotoriseerde punch losgesneden en in stompe SAVA-implanters geladen, die vrijwel meteen worden geleegd om de tijd dat grafts buiten het lichaam zijn te verkorten.4 Voor gevorderde gevallen schat de kliniek 4.500 tot 8.000+ grafts, soms verdeeld over twee sessies en aangevuld met baardhaar; kleinere gevallen vragen ongeveer 1.000 tot 4.000 grafts.1 Correctiewerk omvat het opnieuw implanteren van oudere "plug"-grafts en transplanteren in littekenweefsel, wat als moeilijker wordt omschreven door de verminderde doorbloeding.1 De kliniek stelt dat ze een ingreep afraadt als het donorgebied te zwak is, de patiënt in het algemeen jonger is dan 25, of het patroon van de haaruitval nog in ontwikkeling is.1

De FAQ-pagina van de kliniek, die samenvat wat ze omschrijft als patronen in patiëntreviews, stelt dat consulten per geval worden ingericht in plaats van in een vast tijdslot, en dat haar artsen geen garanties geven maar beperkingen en variatie bespreken in plaats van beloftes.1 Na de ingreep beschrijft de kliniek een vast nazorgteam dat per telefoon of tekstbericht bereikbaar is.3

At 10 months, Shoegazer83 reported 4,500 grafts for a NW6-7 case at Eugenix, New Delhi; Dr Vinita performed the procedure, not Dr Pradeep Sethi. He characterized the result as clearly very bad, reporting poor growth, a patchy scarred donor, and an uneven hairline, and said Eugenix ignored his questions about graft survival and operative photos. Separately, after a London consultation with Sethi, he said Sethi seemed preoccupied and not overly engaging.
