Celebrity hair transplants: who said so themselves, and who didn’t

Only the person himself knows whether he had a hair transplant. So this page keeps two things apart. First, what each celebrity has said on the record: his own words from interviews and posts, quoted from archived articles, or “nothing found” when we couldn’t find any. Second, what 2,036 people on reddit’s hair-loss and hair-transplant forums, r/tressless and r/HairTransplants, said they believe (2012–2026). Those are opinions, mostly from comparing photos, not facts about anyone.

In short: of the 23 people here, 8 said themselves that they had a hair transplant: John Cena, Wayne Rooney, Jürgen Klopp, Jimmy Carr, James Nesbitt, Louis Walsh, Calum Best, Elton John. Matthew McConaughey denied having one and credits a daily scalp treatment. For the rest, including Elon Musk, Justin Bieber, Steve Carell and LeBron James, we found no statement from them either way, however sure the internet is.

If you are thinking about one yourself

Celebrities can pay any surgeon and have work redone, so their hair says little about what to expect yourself. The independent doctor directory lists published prices and checked credentials, hair transplant cost adds up a full trip, and before and after shows ordinary patients’ own results at 9+ months.

How this page was made

For each person we searched news archives, interviews and their own posts for anything they said about a hair transplant, a hairpiece or hair-loss medication, and archived the articles we quote (17 Oct 2026). We only count their own words: clinic marketing, tabloid claims and surgeons’ photo analyses are left out. Where a quote reached us second-hand (through a spokesman, a barber or a clinic’s press office), the source note says so. “Nothing on the record” means our search found nothing, not that nothing exists.

Then we read every live post and comment in r/tressless and r/HairTransplants that names one of them (3,760 in all): is it about his hair, and what does the writer believe and why. Each account counts once per celebrity, with its latest view; a definite view is never replaced by a later “not sure”; reposted text counts once. Reddit quotes are copied word for word from the post or comment they link to. Removed posts are left out and usernames are not shown. Data as of Oct 2026.

SaveMyHairline is an independent hair transplant doctor directory: published prices, checked credentials and real patient reports, with sources — and no clinic can pay to appear.
