Dr. Alan Liu

Dr Alan I-Fang Liu (劉怡坊) is the director of Mojelim Hair Surgery (毛爵生髮診所) in Da'an District, Taipei, Taiwan 12. His clinic page lists a medical degree from China Medical University and postgraduate study in dermatology at Cardiff University and Anhui Medical University 1. It lists former posts as an attending physician at two dermatology clinics and as director of another hair clinic 1. The clinic says it holds an exclusive licence from the Korean MOJELIM hair centre 2.

The clinic offers FUE, FUT, ARTAS robotic FUE and combinations of these, plus scalp micropigmentation and scalp treatments 3. Its price page says Dr Liu has experience in all three techniques and can combine them for one patient 3. The clinic's philosophy page says that Dr Liu personally performs the procedure 4. Its FUE page says (in Chinese) that a doctor extracts every graft with a hybrid punch of 0.52 to 0.56 mm inner diameter 5. It says a graft technician then trims the grafts under a microscope, and a doctor implants them with disposable Korean implanter pens 5. The clinic has other doctors, and the site does not say which doctor operates on a given case 46.

The clinic charges per hair (根), not per graft: about NT$70 to NT$120 per hair depending on technique 3. It says FUT is the cheapest per hair, then FUE, then ARTAS 3. It does not say what the price includes 3.

A consultation includes a scalp density scan and a one-to-one talk with a doctor of about 20 minutes 7. Booking surgery requires a deposit and a blood test 7. For overseas patients the clinic suggests four to five days in Taipei, with surgery on the second day 8. After FUE it asks patients to return every three months for a year, with progress photos and a doctor's check 5. After FUT, stitches are removed at a visit on day 14 9.

His clinic page lists ABHRS certification, ISHRS Fellowship, a board seat in the Taiwan hair restoration society and membership of the Asian hair restoration society 1. Registry records list him as an ABHRS diplomate and an ISHRS Fellow Member at the clinic's address 1011. His ISHRS profile says he joined the society in 2011 11.
