AfroHairJourney had about 2,000 grafts at Ziering Medical in Los Angeles on Nov. 10, 2023, paying over $20k on an interest-free 2-year payment plan; the count was raised from 1800 to 2000 mid-procedure for an extra 2k. He says Ziering drew the hairline and made the recipient sites while his assistant extracted the grafts and other staff placed them, and that he "did expect him to do more based on the price tag". At about 8 months he said he was satisfied "Yes and no", liking how it frames his face but wanting more density. At 12 months he wrote he was very grateful he got it done and that it had been huge for his self-esteem.
