Dr. Damkerng Pathomvanich (Dr Path, DHT Clinic)
Lead/founding hair restoration surgeon·DHT Clinic
Thailand
Background
Damkerng Pathomvanich is a hair restoration surgeon at DHT Clinic in Bangkok, Thailand; its bio states he has a general surgery background and is American Board of Surgery certified, recertified since 1979.1 The clinic describes him as the first to bring modern hair restoration surgery to Thailand.1 DHT Clinic's team page lists three doctors and two nurses, not a solo practice.2 A separately-branded sister site, "Full Hair BY DHT Clinic," lists him as surgeon at a different Bangkok address, a relationship neither site explains.1
Procedures and techniques
The clinic says it has performed a "Refined Follicular Unit Hair Transplantation Technique" for over 25 years, in which the surgeon, assistant doctors and surgical assistants together handle hairline design, donor selection and the procedure.3 Listed services include FUE, FUT (strip), a combined FUT/FUE approach, eyebrow, beard, body hair and scar transplants, scalp micropigmentation, PRP and low-level laser therapy.3 Donor harvesting uses an "Open Technique" he developed for strip harvesting, which the clinic and ISHRS describe as intended to reduce follicular transection and scarring.4 Pain management is local anesthesia with the smallest available needle and massage for distraction.3 Graft counts are set at consultation based on area and density wanted.3
Pricing
No price list is published; the clinic asks for photos from different angles for a rough estimate, and says cost scales with graft count, with a lower per-graft rate at higher counts.3
Booking and aftercare
The process runs 3-4 days: consultation, surgery, then a follow-up before departing on day three, or day four for larger sessions.3 A patient testimonial on the site calls the consultation free, though the clinic's own text does not say so.3 Post-op complications are described as self-limited, flying home the next day is said to be safe, and patients are told to contact the clinic with problems.3 It states there is no 100% guarantee, cites roughly 90% graft growth after 3-6 months, and offers a free repeat surgery if grafts fail to grow, which it says has not happened.3
Credentials and memberships
He is listed by ISHRS as a Fellow member.4 Per its doctor page, the clinic also lists him as a member of the Asian Association of Hair Restoration Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons of Thailand, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.1 ISHRS records show he passed American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery certification in 2003.4 The clinic's own doctor page separately shows the credential as "2003-2013 Retired."1

Tracking the result from 3 months through 6 months, they reported 'fantastic growth,' no pain during surgery beyond mild donor tingling, a responsive surgeon who emailed every other day, and by 5-6 months called it 'an insanely full thick head of hair from bald' with singles placed naturally so 'no one can tell.' They went on to repeatedly and consistently recommend Dr Path in other patients' threads over the following months, at one point saying 'him and his team might be some of the best in the world.' No complications or negatives were mentioned at any point.'

OP (u/Head_Ad4606), a Norwood 2 at age 30, booked with Dr. Pathomvanich in 2025 and had a 2,900-graft FUT procedure with temporal points in 2026, ultimately costing 'around 9k usd.' Early on he called recovery better than expected — the incision was only 'a little tender,' manageable with Tylenol — and said he 'can't recommend him highly enough, you won't regret it.' By 3.5 months he was optimistic it would 'keep getting better,' and at his 6-month update he reported 'loving this result so far,' also noting the FUT scar is invisible unless his hair is buzzed short. No complications were reported at any stage.

TomasX90, a Vancouver resident, had FUE surgery with Dr. Path at DHT Clinic Bangkok on 2024-11-29 (4,125 grafts: hairline + crown), paying around $15,000 USD after comparing four surgeons including Dr. Patty and Dr. Laorwong. He repeatedly called the choice worth it, citing fast, detailed pre-op communication, a team that 'never felt like they were just trying to make a sale,' and being treated 'as an individual, not just one of hundreds.' At 4.5-5 months he reported the hairline settled well while the crown was still filling in (expected, in his telling), and by 15 months post-op (his latest update, March 2026) he remained 'extremely happy how things went,' with no complications ever mentioned across his many posts.

OP had FUT with Dr. Path at DHT Clinic in Bangkok on 2025-07-25, receiving 3,354 grafts (upsized from an agreed 3,000) for 297,000 baht with no extra charge, after switching from a different surgeon he'd booked over concerns about multiple same-day surgeries. Across updates from 1 week to 9 months post-op he reported no pain, called Dr. Path 'patient and understanding' despite a language barrier, and said his donor scar was 'almost invisible.' He stayed consistently positive through the series, summing up his 9-month result with 'I'm happy :)'

He posted a series of updates from day 5 through a 15-month final report: right after surgery he called Dr Path 'awesome... really kind and attentive,' noted his scar was 'a bit visible' at day 5 but found it unnoticeable by 6 months even with short hair, and said he loved being able to brush his hair back without worrying about the Norwood look. His verdict stayed positive throughout, culminating in his final update: 'I'm REALLY happy with my new hairline,' and he said he 'would really recommend DHT hair clinic in Bangkok.'

Fresh-Coach5838 had FUE surgery with Dr. Path in July 2024, totaling 2963 grafts including 708 via body hair transplant (BHT). Before booking, he compared Path against other Bangkok surgeons and noted the price ran higher, saying he wasn't sure paying more would mean a better result. At 2.5 months post-op he called the outcome 'Excellent.' By April 2026, now with a limited donor area, he returned to compare Path against two other Bangkok doctors for a second procedure and said he 'was most impressed with Dr. Path's approach,' the only one of the three to directly propose a mixed scalp+beard solution for his donor limitation.

Robbadogga71101, 22 and from Melbourne, had FUT with Dr Path at DHT Clinic in Bangkok in 2023, roughly 2,700 grafts, with his 1-year update citing about $10,000 AUD for procedure, flights and hotel. His updates traced a positive arc — 'decent growth' and hope it would 'take off' at 4 months, 'I have a hairline and i love it!!' at 6 months, and by 1 year calling it 'worth every cent,' saying the procedure itself was nearly painless, though he admitted still feeling 'a little bit disappointed with the density.' A year and a half after his own surgery, he was still endorsing Dr Path to another patient, calling him 'a wizard with an fut transplant.'

In later threads (2023–2025) they described him as 'good and professional' with 'nothing to be scared about,' and said they were happy going slick-back with hair Dr. Path called thick and coarse, adding it took seeing more cases over time to understand his reasoning. In a December 2025 update they reaffirmed the surgery 'was great,' with no complications reported at any point.

Perfect_Ad_1673 had a combined hair (2,370 grafts) and eyebrow (608 grafts) FUE transplant with Dr. Pathomvanich at DHT Clinic Bangkok in May 2025, paying about $12,300 total; pre-op he was Norwood 1 and chose Dr. Path specifically because he could do hair and brows in one visit. Post-op he reported minimal scab formation, though the brow-area injections hurt more than the scalp ones, and he wanted more density (especially in the brows), with a possible second surgery about a year out. His first email to the doctor took over a week to get a reply. By D+10 he summed up the result as 'I like everything about it. No complaints really.'

u/Rude_Boat5473 had a combined FUT scar revision plus roughly 3,000–3,100 FUE grafts to the hairline and temples with Dr. Damkerng Pathomvanich (Dr. Path) at DHT Clinic, Thailand, around June 2025 — his second transplant after an earlier one elsewhere. He praised Dr. Path's patient-centered approach and months of pre-op email exchanges, called the clinic staff 'friendly, professional, and fluent in English,' and said 'I highly recommend them to anyone considering a procedure.' The scar revision itself did not hold, though — by two months post-op it had 'stretched back out to about where it was' after initially looking great. In later updates, including one 'almost at 4 months post op' with 'solid growth' and an 'am thrilled' comment months after, he continued reporting a positive outcome from the FUE work and kept recommending Dr. Path to others.

By her 18-month update her assessment had turned positive: the donor scar is 'completely invisible' and she 'haven't had any issues' since surgery.

u/bwuillz had FUE with Dr Pathomvanich at DHT Clinic Bangkok on 2026-01-12, 2,800 grafts at 123 baht/graft (~344,400 THB), opting for a jagged, natural hairline. He said he 'left the consult feeling informed, not pressured,' and noted Dr Path personally draws and corrects the hairline and stays to oversee surgery, though his team carries out most of the actual work. He flagged some rough edges: nurses removed his bandages without gloves, and getting asked the same questions repeatedly by different staff felt 'chaotic at times and possibly unorganised.' He also observed that Dr Path 'barely has any reviews' despite decades in practice.
