Dr. Georgios Zontos

Dr Georgios Zontos (George Zontos on the clinic's English pages) founded Zontos Hair & Skin Clinic at Napoleontos Zerva 18 in Glyfada, near Athens, Greece 12. The clinic says he holds degrees in physics and medicine, an MSc in medical physics and a PhD in medicine, from the University of Patras 3. It says he worked as a general surgeon at the 401 General Military Hospital in Athens from 2005 to 2007 3. It says he was medical director of Haarklinikken in Denmark from 2007, for over 13 years, before founding the Greek clinic 34. It says he has performed about 5,000 hair transplant procedures in several countries 3.

The clinic offers FUE, long hair FUE without shaving the donor area, and body hair FUE using beard, chest or back hair 567. It also lists autologous hair mesotherapy, medication and scalp micropigmentation 5. It says Dr Zontos performs each stage of FUE himself and that other staff never extract or implant grafts 8. It says extraction is done with manual or motorised tools, using a method he calls Vertical Extraction, which it says he published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology in 2017 83. It says grafts are placed with implanters and that local anaesthetic is given with the Wand computer system 8. It says he usually transplants up to 2,000 grafts a day, and larger cases need several sessions 9.

The clinic offers an online diagnosis from photos sent through its site 10. It says Dr Zontos then makes contact by Skype, FaceTime or Zoom 2. It says it uses its own Follysis software for diagnosis, planning and follow-up 3. It says the donor bandage comes off the next day and small scalp wounds heal in seven to ten days 9.

The clinic says Dr Zontos is an ABHRS diplomate and an ISHRS Fellow 3. It says he was an oral examiner at the ABHRS examination in May 2024 3. It says he holds a Danish licence to practise independently and is recognised to practise in Greece and the United Kingdom 3. Registry records list him as an ABHRS diplomate, an ISHRS Fellow Member at the Glyfada address and a member of FUE Europe 111213.
