Dr. Henrique Radwanski

Dr Henrique Radwanski is a plastic surgeon who runs Pilos, a hair transplant and plastic surgery centre in Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil 1. The clinic's site says (in Portuguese) that he trained in plastic surgery in Prof. Ivo Pitanguy's service in 1992 1. It says he has worked in hair restoration since 1997, in both cosmetic and reconstructive cases 1. His CV says he qualified in medicine at the Federal University of Santa Maria in 1987 2. It says he speaks English, French and Spanish fluently 2. Besides hair restoration, he also performs other plastic surgery such as facelifts, eyelid, breast and body procedures 8.

He treats male and female hair loss, high foreheads in women, thin eyebrows, gaps in beards and scalp scars 2. The CV says he also has wide experience correcting poor earlier transplants 2. He performs both FUT (strip) and FUE 1. The technique page says that in FUE the surgeon himself removes each follicle, with a motorised punch of 0.85 to 1.00 mm 4. It says the surgeon also places the grafts, and that he prefers an implanter device 4. A trained team of technicians prepares the grafts 4. The surgeon gives the local anaesthetic, and an anaesthetist sedates the patient during surgery 4. The page describes a large session as about 2,500 grafts with FUT or about 2,000 with FUE 4. The hair restoration page claims a graft survival rate above 95% 3.

It says the patient returns the next morning for the first hair wash, and that strip stitches are removed after 7 to 10 days 4. He is an ISHRS Fellow Member and joined ISHRS in 2003 7. His ISHRS profile says he was to be Program Chair of the 2024 ISHRS congress in Denver 7. His CV says he has been a full member of the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery since 1997 and led its hair restoration chapter for four years 2.
