Dr. Kapil Dua

Dr Kapil Dua is the co-founder and chairman of AK Clinics, which lists centres in New Delhi, Ludhiana and Bengaluru, India 12. The clinic's Delhi page calls him its chief hair transplant surgeon 3. He trained in otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat, head and neck surgery) at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital in Ludhiana 4. The clinic says he has performed FUE hair transplants since 2007 1. AK Clinics says he and Dr Aman Dua founded it in 2008, after starting hair transplants at Dayanand Medical College in 2007 5.

The clinic offers FUE, its own trademarked Bio-FUE, FUT, body and beard hair transplants, female and revision hair transplants 6. Its FUE page says the surgeon extracts each graft with a 0.6 to 0.9 mm punch while a technician removes it with forceps 7. The same page says trained staff implant the grafts under the surgeon's supervision 7. The Bio-FUE page says its surgeons make the recipient slits before extraction, using cut-to-size blades 6. The site does not say which steps Dr Kapil Dua does himself on each case.

The clinic's FUE page gives a graft-band table from INR 45,000 for 800 to 1,000 grafts up to INR 4,50,000 for 3,000 to 4,000 grafts 7. For 2,000 to 3,000 grafts it gives INR 125,000 to INR 350,000 7. The page says these prices are for reference only, each patient gets a custom quote, and GST is added 7.

The Delhi page offers a free consultation 3. The post-operative page says FUT patients come back between day 7 and day 10 to have their sutures removed 8. It gives a headband for 5 days and oral medication for 5 to 7 days 8. The site does not state a follow-up period in months.

The clinic says he is an ABHRS diplomate and a Fellow of the ISHRS 1. Registry records list him as an ABHRS diplomate and as an ISHRS Fellow Member in New Delhi 94. The clinic also lists AAHRS and AHRS India membership and a term on the ISHRS Board of Governors from 2017 to 2019 1.
