Dr. Kinnar Kapadia

Dr Kinnar Kapadia is the director and owner of Avenues Cosmetic Surgery Center in Sola, Ahmedabad 13. His bio says he completed his MBBS at Bangalore Medical College and qualified in general surgery (MS and DNB) in 2007 1. It says he finished his plastic surgery training (MCh) at Civil Hospital Ahmedabad in July 2010 and then sub-specialised at the Amrita Institute in Cochin, where FUE was started in 2010 1. The bio says Avenues first offered all kinds of cosmetic surgery, but by 2015 he had limited it to hair transplant surgery 1. The homepage says he performs only hair transplant surgery at Avenues 2. His bio also says he started a weekly hair transplant programme at Civil Hospital Ahmedabad to teach residents 1.

The clinic lists FUE, FUT, hairline reconstruction, corrective transplants, beard and body hair transplants, unshaven transplants, burn scar transplants and female hair transplants 2. It also describes a method it calls "DHT (Direct Hair Transplant)", in which extracted grafts are implanted straight away instead of being stored 7. The FUE page says the clinic extracts with the Trivellini or Mamba device and implants with implanters while extraction is still going on 6. It says the team counts hairs as well as grafts during extraction 6. The site claims more than 3,000 hair transplant procedures 2. It does not say which steps Dr Kapadia does himself and which the team does 6.

AHRS India (Association of Hair Restoration Surgeons, India) lists him as a member, number P/61/2019, at Avenues in Sola 8. AHRS India says that since 2016 only doctors with an MCh in plastic surgery, an MS in general surgery or ENT, or ABHRS diplomate status can join 9. ISHRS lists him as an Associate Member 10. His bio lists ISHRS and World FUE Institute meetings he has attended and two papers he presented at the AHRS India conference, in 2018 and 2019 1.
