Dr. Radha Palakurthi

Founder and lead surgeon·Radha International Institute of Hair Transplant (RIIHT / IIHT)

United States

Background

Dr. Radha Rani Palakurthi is the founder and lead surgeon of Radha International Institute of Hair Transplant (RIIHT), described by the clinic as a board-certified dermatologist practicing hair restoration surgery.1 The clinic is located in Visakhapatnam, India.3 Its history page states she became the first Indian doctor to qualify with both the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery and the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery, training under Dr. Damkerng Pathomvanich, and started RIIHT in 2009.2 The clinic states every surgery is personally performed or directly supervised by Dr. Radha rather than outsourced to technicians.1

Procedures and techniques

The clinic's homepage lists FUE, FUT, and a combined "Mega Session" of both, and its FAQ says the choice between FUE and FUT depends on the patient's hair loss pattern and donor availability.1 ISHRS's registry additionally lists beard and moustache, eyebrow, ethnic hair, facelift hair revision, female hair restoration surgery, and non-surgical medical management of hair loss among procedures she performs.4 The clinic describes using high-magnification tools, ultra-fine punches, and angled incisions across FUE, FUT, or combination grafting, with hairlines, temples, and facial hair designed through aesthetic facial mapping rather than a standard template.1 Third-party aggregator medihair.com states FUE and FUT are performed exclusively by Dr. Radha and her trained assistants, typically taking 3 to 8 hours depending on hair loss degree.5

Pricing

The clinic's own website does not publish per-graft or package pricing.1 Medihair.com, a third-party aggregator, brackets its price range as below $3,000.5

Booking and aftercare

The clinic says most patients can begin with an online consultation by sending clear scalp photos, without needing an in-person visit first.3 To book, patients contact the clinic by form, phone, or email, sharing their name, age, medical history if any, and 4 to 6 clear scalp photos taken in natural light.3 Because the clinic performs only one surgery per day, securing a date can take 4 to 8 weeks depending on demand.3 The clinic says aftercare includes follow-ups, growth tracking, and scalp health optimization.1 Per its FAQ, post-op patients are given a direct emergency contact number for urgent concerns.3 The clinic's homepage also lists airport pickup, cab assistance, and hotel booking assistance for patients traveling to Visakhapatnam.1

Credentials and memberships

ISHRS's Find-a-Doctor registry lists her as a Full Member who joined in 2008, a Diplomate of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery, and a member of the Asian Association of Hair Restoration Surgery and AHRS India.4

    3,240 grafts surgery 2014

flabmeister reports having 3,240 FUE grafts with Dr Radha at Hair Clinic India in Visakhapatnam in January 2014, at $1 per graft (reported total $3,240); the work was limited to the front/temple area. At roughly 10 years post-op, they said the front had survived well and any thinning was not noticeable, calling the transplant an “absolute life changer” and saying, “I would 100% recommend.” They also reported substantial later crown thinning, which they said was not part of this procedure.
