Dr. Rafael De Freitas

Dr Rafael de Freitas is a Brazilian medical doctor, a graduate in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Extremadura, Spain, with a Master's in Trichology and Hair Implantology from the University of Alcalá, Madrid.1 He leads Clínica de Freitas, based in Valencia with a consultation office in Barcelona and a newer clinic in Brazil; the clinic states all surgeries take place in Valencia.2 Case-volume claims are inconsistent: more than 1,500 hair surgeries in one passage, more than 3,000 in another.2

The clinic states Dr de Freitas focuses exclusively on FUE.1 Consultations are carried out exclusively by the doctor.3 On surgery day the doctor meets the patient beforehand and marks donor and receiving areas with them.5 Extraction uses punches sized 0.75mm to 0.90mm chosen by hair diameter; the doctor then performs implantation, setting each graft's depth, angle and direction.5 Sessions run one day for up to 1,600 follicles or two days for 2,000 to 3,200 follicles.4 The homepage also lists hair mesotherapy, low-level laser therapy and PRP among its treatments.3 Its pricing page separately names body hair transplant and scar repair as procedures it performs.4

No fixed prices are published; the clinic states cost depends on graft count, scar or repair complexity, body hair transplant difficulty, and donor hair characteristics.4 Cost per graft is said to fall as session size grows, and returning patients get a lower price on later surgeries.4 The quoted price covers medical fees, nursing, operating room costs, supplies, medications and local anaesthesia; travel for check-ins is the patient's own expense.4

The initial consultation is free and without obligation, assessing degree of baldness and graft numbers.4 The clinic offers a 95% growth-rate guarantee, replacing follicles that fail to grow, and tells patients to wait at least 18 months after the procedure for growth to be assessed.6 Staying eligible also means attending follow-up exams and sending photographs at 3, 6, 9 and 12 months, or the clinic may revoke it; the guarantee applies only to sessions under 50 follicles per cm2.6 The rate drops to 85% for scalps that cannot be fully shaved, to 65% for repair cases or patients declining the prescribed finasteride/minoxidil regimen, and to 75-85% for diffuse alopecia.6
