Dr. A. Muttalip Keser is specialist in esthetische, plastische en reconstructieve chirurgie; hij studeerde in 1991 af aan de Ankara University Medical Faculty en volgde de opleiding plastische chirurgie in het Ankara Numune Education and Research Hospital van 1992 tot 1997 1. Behandelingen en technieken
De kliniek omschrijft FUE met een zelf ontworpen naald met een diameter van minder dan 1 mm (0,7-0,9 mm), in 2003 in Turkije gepatenteerd 3. Het donorhaar wordt tot ongeveer 1 mm geknipt, de gebieden worden plaatselijk verdoofd en de naald wordt 6-7 mm diep ingebracht onder de natuurlijke groeihoek van het haar, zodat elke eenheid als een klein cilindertje loskomt voordat ze wordt verwijderd 3. Volgens de kliniek worden er geen incisies of hechtingen gebruikt en genezen de prikgaatjes binnen een paar dagen met vrijwel geen zichtbare littekens 3. Grotere behandelingen worden verdeeld over meerdere dagen van elk 500-700 grafts, met ongeveer twee dagen ertussen, wat de kliniek het optimum noemt 2. De dichtheid wordt omschreven als 60-80 folliculaire eenheden per cm2 3. Donorhaar kan van elk deel van het hoofd worden genomen, en volgens de kliniek kan ook lichaamshaar naar de hoofdhuid worden verplaatst of omgekeerd 3.
Boeken en nazorg
Vóór de ingreep vraagt de kliniek patiënten om ongeveer een week te stoppen met aspirine, ontstekingsremmers, kruidensupplementen, alcohol en roken, met de toelichting dat roken de wondgenezing belemmert 6. Minoxidil wordt drie weken vooraf gestopt, terwijl finasteride tot en met de ingreep door kan gaan 6. Patiënten nemen bloeduitslagen van de afgelopen zes maanden mee en laten hun haar vooraf niet knippen, zodat het gebied beoordeeld kan worden 6. Na de ingreep gaat het verband de volgende dag af, wordt het haar twee dagen gewassen met een Providone-Iodine scrub, en helpt een oogzalf de korstjes in vijf tot zes dagen te laten verdwijnen 5. Scheermesjes moeten een vol jaar van het behandelde gebied wegblijven, al mag het haar na een maand met een tondeuse worden geknipt 5. De kliniek stelt dat van patiënten wordt verwacht dat ze Dr. Keser of zijn team na de ingreep op de hoogte blijven houden van de haargroei 2.
