Dr. Dan McGrath

Dan McGrath is founder of McGrath Medical, a hair restoration practice in Austin, Houston and Dallas, Texas.1 The clinic frames his path into the field as personal: he had male pattern hair loss in his twenties, underwent his own transplant, and later completed a year-long fellowship at Ziering Medical in Newport Beach before dedicating his practice to hair restoration.2 He is joined by Dr. Michael Hughes, whom the clinic describes as a former U.S. Air Force Major who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, returned to private practice, and after discovering hair transplantation trained in FUE including time in Beverly Hills.3 McGrath speaks Spanish, and the clinic states he underwent the same procedure himself.4

McGrath Medical does not publish its own prices; its cost page instead cites general market figures, putting the national average session at $5,000 to $25,000 and the Texas average at roughly $8,500 to $15,000.9 It offers financing through LendingClub and CareCredit.9

Consultations are free by phone or text, described as an in-depth evaluation followed by a treatment recommendation; a separate online form is offered for a virtual consultation.1 For NeoGraft, the clinic lists claimed benefits including no stitches, patients typically back at work the next day, and roughly double the grafts of manual FUE per session.8
