Dr. Fas Arshad

The Hair Dr describes itself as a private practice offering "surgeon-led medical treatment" for hair loss, and states a transplant is not always the outcome it recommends 1. Dr Arshad is its lead surgeon, a facial plastic and hair transplant surgeon in Leeds and London 2. He graduated from the University of Leeds in 2007, and its team page lists two other doctors, Dr Afeef and Dr Hamza, at the practice 3.

The clinic offers FUE, FUT and Body Hair Follicular Unit Excision (BHFUE), plus beard, eyebrow and eyelash transplants 4. For FUE, donor hair units of about 0.75-1mm are removed using a tool the clinic calls a micropunch; the surgeon then creates the recipient sites, or "slits," while technicians place the grafts, with the process usually completed within eight hours 5. FUT, described as "the strip technique," is said to require "a much greater degree of surgical expertise" and is favoured when more grafts are needed 6. BHFUE expands the donor supply with matched body hair when scalp donor sites are limited 4.

FUE is priced from £3.00 per graft, so 1,000 grafts costs about £3,000; FUT has no separate per-graft price published 7. Scalp micropigmentation starts from £800 or £1,800 depending on scope, laser therapy runs £50 per session or £1,500 for a year, and consultations are advertised as free 7. Finance is available for £350 to £25,000, subject to status, with a 14-day cooling-off period 8.

Per its FAQ, the clinic does not recommend surgery for ongoing or recurrent hair-loss causes such as alopecia areata, or for patients under 25 8. Its pricing page states aftercare is led by its "post-operative management team, with additional guidance from the surgeon where necessary" 7. Its about-us page credits Clinic Director Sommiya Hanif with "personal responsibility for overseeing key aspects of patient aftercare," alongside a mandatory 12-month review for every transplant patient 1. Advised time off work is about a week, with FUT sutures removed at 10-14 days 8.

Per its team page, Dr Arshad holds FRCS (ORL-HNS) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England 3. He is a full member of the ISHRS, per the society's directory 9.
