Background
Dr Koray Erdogan earned his medical degree from Hacettepe University, completed his military service, then worked as an assistant in Marmara University's Thoracic Surgery department 1. In 2001 he founded ASMED, his own clinic in Atasehir, Istanbul 1. The clinic states he exclusively performs FUE transplants there alongside six other physicians 1. By 2004 he had developed a proprietary FUE extraction method the clinic calls the Sequential Technique 1.
Procedures and techniques
ASMED states it uses only manual extraction, with inside-bevel punches from 0.6mm to 0.85mm, and says up to 1,000 grafts an hour can be extracted this way without damage 2. Recipient incisions are made personally by Dr Erdogan under loupe magnification using a lateral slit technique with custom-sized blades, and the clinic places single-hair grafts at the frontal hairline, which it says gives a natural, soft appearance 2. The surgical team then places the grafts with a tool Erdogan developed, the K.E.E.P. embedding placer, though the site does not name or credential the staff who handle extraction and placement 2. The consultation includes a microscope exam plus density and hair-diameter measurement, and the hairline is hand-drawn after evaluating facial structure, with the patient approving the design before it is finalized 2.
Pricing
The clinic charges a flat €3 per graft, the same worldwide including the Turkish domestic market 3. It states the price covers the surgical facility, the consultation, the manual DES technique, hairline design, blood analysis and an ECG, anesthesiologist-managed pain control, microscope-based graft quality control, optional post-surgical LLLT, an after-care kit, and a native-speaking advisor 3.
Booking and aftercare
The clinic offers a photo or in-person consultation, generally held in Turkey though it says it sometimes arranges these elsewhere 4. Patients return the day after surgery for a wash and check-up 2. A second procedure, if needed, is typically scheduled 12-14 months after the first so the surgeon can assess how the initial grafts grew before placing new ones 4.

- surgeon refused to operate, donor deemed insufficient source ↗
On 2026-01-13, the OP posted on a French forum asking about their eligibility for a hair transplant, reporting that Dr. Koray Erdogan had declined to operate on them. According to the OP, Erdogan judged their donor area insufficient and noted they were also losing hair there, predicting an unsatisfactory result from a graft. The OP had also approached other clinics (CapilClinic, The Clinic/Dr Assaf Bendavid, Clinique restauration capillaire/Dr Claude Aharoni) and declined finasteride over side-effect concerns. No overall verdict on Erdogan was given, and no cost, technique, or outcome with him is reported.

adi_naveen posted in Nov 2025 weighing Istanbul clinics, considering Smile's Diamond package; the thread names the doctor as "Dr Mehmet Erdogan," not Koray Erdogan, and reports no surgery, result, or price paid. Per the package details OP relayed, the chief surgical assistant performs extraction, Dr Mehmet Erdogan or other listed doctors perform incisions, and specialist technicians perform implantation, and OP reconsidered after learning technicians handle part of the procedure. OP also contacted several other named doctors, but gives no firsthand experience or direct assessment of Dr Erdogan.

u/Gurvim isn't a patient themselves — they're describing their 65-year-old father's transplant at ASMED, which Gurvim says was performed by an unnamed woman doctor personally trained by Koray Erdogan, not by Erdogan directly. No graft count, technique, confirmed price, or surgery date is given for the procedure. Gurvim reports their father is "very very happy," that the result is "full" and "looks natural," and concludes the clinic "is good," while also noting Erdogan himself is expensive and advising others to negotiate.
